Custom Healthcare Equipment Labels
Polycarbonate and polyester overlays and identification labels for medical device manufacturers — engineered to survive aggressive clinical cleaning, sterilisation and decades of daily use.
When a label peels, fades or delamcinates on medical equipment, it creates a patient safety risk. Every healthcare equipment label from Adcal is built to the standard clinical environments demand. Made in High Wycombe, UK.
The Clinical Environment Is Hostile to Standard Labels
Hospital equipment is disinfected multiple times daily with agents that dissolve most label adhesives and bleach most printed inks within weeks. IPA wipes, chlorine-based surface cleaners, hydrogen peroxide vapour sterilisation and automated washer-disinfectors are routine. A label applied to a hospital-grade infusion pump, ventilator or physiotherapy device must survive all of these without peeling, cracking, bubbling or losing legibility.
We manufacture healthcare equipment labels from hard coat polycarbonate and polyester grades selected for chemical resistance. The print is applied using UV-cured screen printing inks that are fully cured and chemically bound to the substrate surface — not printed on top of it in a way that a cleaning wipe can dissolve. The adhesive is selected to bond permanently to the ABS, polycarbonate and stainless steel housings typical of medical device construction.
For medical device OEMs undergoing CE marking or FDA 510(k) submission, we can provide material data sheets, UL 969 certification for labelling materials, and RoHS and REACH compliance documentation for inclusion in your technical file.

UDI Label Printing
The EU MDR and FDA now require Unique Device Identifiers (UDI) on medical devices. We print UDI barcodes (GS1-128, DataMatrix) on polycarbonate and polyester labels to the required grade. Variable data runs are supported — each label carries a unique UDI at no additional setup cost per unit.
